Update Sound Drivers

Outdated sound drivers can be culprit behind in non-functioning audio devices. It is always recommended to update all your drivers on Windows. If you have disabled the Auto-update feature on Windows, then you need to update it manually.
To manually update Sound drivers, follow the simple steps
  • Type device manager on start screen or open charms bar using Windows + C and in the search charm type device manager
Device Manager Windows-8
  • From the results, open device manager
device manager audio
  • In device manager window, you can see the audio devices installed on your system or the list of audio devices on your system or expand Audio Inputs and Outputs option and right click on the drivers and select Update.
This will install all the new updates for your audio devices connected or installed in the system. If you opt to install new sound drivers, visit the respective manufacturer’s website and download drivers from there.
If still find your Speakers not functioning, the speakers might be a faulty one, so check for it or try using the system restore (If you have previously set a restore point) option to retrieve back to a state where the system worked perfectly fine or else consult any nearby service centers.
