An all new Firmware Update of Jellybean 4.1.2 is out for SONY Xperia S/ SL is finally rolled out and for all those who are waiting to update can easily apply the same. This all new update is dubbed as 6.2.B.0.211. Though this update is manually pushed via PC Companion, for all those who still didn’t get the update can easily apply the same manually with the help of a detailed tutorial. So, before we proceed on to check on how to apply with this update, you need to go through the list of pre requisites which we have summed up below;
Note: Applying your SONY Xperia S/ SL with Official Jellybean 4.1.2 firmware won’t void the warranty in any manner as this is the Official update rolled out by SONY.
Quick Pre Requisites:
- All the data in your SONY Xperia S/ SL should be backed up with the help of below mentioned steps manually and not with the SONY Companion Tool.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- From the path “Settings > More > Development Options > USB debugging” enable the USB Debugging Mode.
- Minimum charge left in your phone is 70% or else there is a risk of device getting turned off in the middle of firmware update process.
