Microsoft’s CFO and Windows CMO, Tami Reller announced during the Worldwide Partner Conference that the Windows 8.1 RTM (release to manufacturing) would be released for OEMs in late June so that the PC manufacturers can start making the Windows 8.1 powered PC’s.
We were given a release date for OEMs but, the general availability date of Windows 8.1 for public wasn’t announced. We hope it to be available for everyone in August if, we go to the early reports by well-known Microsoft follower, Paul Thurrott that Windows 8.1 would be released on August 1 for public.
We may not have an official release date for Windows 8.1 RTM but, Microsoft has announced that Windows 8.1 would be made available to everyone as a final product this year and reports claim that the release is scheduled for third quarter of 2013.
