Google Editon HTC One spotted running on Android 4.3

HTC had recently announced the Google Edition of the HTC One right after Samsung had announced the Google Edition of the Galaxy S4. Both the devices went on sale a few days ago at the US Google Play Store.

Now the Google Edition of the HTC One has been spotted in logs of the Bluetooth SIG. Bluetooth SIG stands for Bluetooth Special Interest Group which is the body that takes care of Bluetooth standards and is the one that licenses the usage of Bluetooth technologies to manufacturers.
So getting the information about a device in its logs is a source credible enough. The model which has been spotted has the model number PN071 which is the model number of the Google Edition of the HTC One.
It got a certification on July 5 after the application regarding the same was filed on the 18th of June. Being a Google Edition device, it will get software updates directly from Google as and when they are released.
The next thing that you will be thinking is as to why a device which is already on sale would go for an approval to SIG. The reason behind it is the fact that the device will get an Android 4.3 update in near future which will give it the Bluetooth 4.0 LE support. It is a power saver version of Bluetooth which has been named as Low Energy version.
The smartphone will get the Android 4.3 update pretty soon as Google is expected to announce Android 4.3 later next month. Alongside the update, the company is also expected to launch the next generation of Nexus devices which will have some real good hardware, the latest version of Android and both these things will come at a price point which will be hard to match.
Recently an Asus made Nexus 7 was also spotted at the Bluetooth SIG which further lends credibility to the fact that the Android 4.3 update is not far away.
