ROBOTO is the Font which Google uses it by default across its Android eco system and the time has changed and this gets the facelift. In the recent Jellybean 4.3 Firmware which was found in HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone. Size does matter and since all other OS majors too shifting gears to a minimalistic design, it’s time now for Google to follow the same and adopt this strategy. If you ask a difference, then this seems to have 15 extra glyphs compared to the current font of Roboto.

What’s New:
Though with the help of Named eye, you won’t be able to spot the differences between the Old and the New Roboto font, but on a 4.7” Display there are quite a few noticeable changes. This new Roboto font is still the same, sans serif made but is for high resolution screens. The demonstration is best explained in the below screen captures which we will be checking out as there are two variants of new Roboto which are – Regular & Thin.
Roboto Thin:
Specially in the characters like lowercase “u” and “n” along with “p,” “d,” and “m”, you will be able to see the change as it has got the overlapping stems which results in the extra little bumps and extra anchors in the font. We have mentioned a quick graph of this Roboto Font Thin version below;

To a surprise, this font has some minor issue which is mentioned below – capital “M”.

Here’s a before and after which has been mentioned above;
Roboto Regular:
Roboto Regular font is mentioned below and when compared with the new version of Roboto Font, this comes with minor subtle changes which are specially seen only in the lowercase characters. The bowls in the lower characters are very trimmed and can be seen slightly.

The letters are not the only ones which seem to be affected as in the punctuation too this has been e designed of which the photo can be seen below.
Roboto-3
The new comma looks very good and minimalistic when looked at High Resolution display. With tightening of curves and narrowing of widths, Roboto Tin looks very good when compared to the former one.
