We already know a bunch of awesome features for the update of Windows 8 named as Windows 8.1. One of the hundreds of features of Windows 8.1 include the option to unlock your PC using your finger which can be scanned on a finger print scanner. Now, it seems that Windows 8.1 won’t just provide finger print scanning options for unlocking and signing in to your PC but, you will also be able to lock individual folders with your fingers.
The Verge reports that Microsoft demoed the finger print reader usage on Windows 8.1 during the TechEd North America and it includes the unlocking and securing your private folders which can be unlocked with specified fingers only.
We understand that Windows 8.1 would let you unlock and sign-in to your PC using your pre-specified finger and scanning it on a finger print reader which would be recognized by the Windows and your PC would be signed-in or unlocked.
Another awesome use of finger print reader in Windows 8.1 would be the option to lock specific folders using your fingers which can be unlocked after scanning your finger on the reader.
Finger print scanning technology has been long available on different devices but, some third party software had to be installed to take advantage of that feature but, Microsoft seems to have pre-installed the software in Windows 8.1 and you would just need a finger print scanner for the features to work.
This finger print scanner feature would part of Windows 8.1 Preview which is scheduled to be launched for public on June 26 during the Build conference.
